Hundreds Gather in Atlanta to Protest Trump’s Deportation Plans
ATLANTA - Hundreds of protesters marched down Buford Hwy to proclaim their support for immigrants who are being affected by President Trump's controversial deportation plan.
In the wake of President Trump's entry into the Oval Office, immigrants are starting to feel the pressure of his administration's actions toward cracking down on immigration. Chants of "si se puede," and "the people united shall never be defeated," filled the air as a wave of green, red, and white draped protesters marched down the street. You can see people of all ages showing a dedication to their cause, many with smiles as they see so many others fighting for something that they also believe in.
Signs such as, "Don't bite the hands that feed you," and "No immoral mass deportations! Shut Down Ice," were raised to make it was clear what they were fighting against. Cars were lined down the street honked in support and played,"FDT," by rapper YG. This was backed by a massive crowd chanting, "shut down ice," and screams of support as they gained acknowledgement from cars passing by.
Many people showed up to fight against the actions of this new administration and seem to be prepared to continue fighting throughout their tenure.
